Pet Insurance: Our Recommendations

We understand that there are many choices for pet health insurance. As a practice that offers acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and laser therapy, we want you to be able to use your policy both with us and at your regular veterinarian. Therefore, we only recommend plans that offer the best of both worlds: exceptional coverage for conventional veterinary medicine and extended coverage for alternative therapies.



We recommend the following two plans:

  1. Trupanion Pet Insurance with the Recovery and Complementary Care Rider. The Recovery and Complementary Care Rider extends coverage to include alternative therapies including acupuncture, herbal medicine, laser therapy and herbal therapy. Coverage also includes a variety of other alternative therapies including chiropractic treatment, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, naturopathy, and rehabilitative therapy. If you already have Trupanion, you can add this rider to your policy.

  2. ASPCA Pet Health Insurance - Level 3 Plan. This plan covers alternative therapies (including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and laser therapy) and provides the most coverage and highest payout limits of the ASPCA plans. It also offers coverage for hereditary and behavioral conditions. The lower levels of ASPCA coverage do not offer as comprehensive coverage.

Tranquil Paws Veterinary is a veterinary practice that offers Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Laser Therapy to canine and feline patients.
